We took a homeschool field trip this past week to Stephen C. Foster State Park in Fargo, Georgia. This park is the main entrance into the legendary Okefenokee Swamp, which is one of Georgia’s seven natural wonders.
The tour guide took us deep into the swamp, turned off the boat motor and let us enjoy the sounds of the swamp. The silence of the swamp was beautiful.
When we decided to visit this park, we were looking for a chance to get out into nature and enjoy the fresh air. Dragonflies, turtles, fishing spiders, American alligators, butterflies, blue herons, deer, a beaver and a black bear made this park the adventure we hoped it would be.
